About Me

Personal

I’ve been roaming around the Internet since the age of 13 years old, so opening this personal site in October 2008 felt long over due! My name is Stephanie and I am a 21-year-old journalism major/French minor at American University. I’ve lived in Paris, London, and Washington and traveled to more cities and countries than I care to list. Needless to say, I love traveling and become fidgety if my suitcase begins collecting too much dust in my closet. I am a pop culture enthusiast who has a schedule of TV shows taped above her desk (taking my organization skills to another level) and makes it a hobby to go to as many advance screenings as possible.

Work Experience

I’ve been building up an editorial resume since the beginning of my college career. I am the Co-Manager of TV Content at the D.C.-based pop culture review website, Poptimal.com, after starting there as an intern in the summer of 2009. I have also interned at Maryland Life magazine and the Washington Post Express. While studying abroad in early 2011, I spent some time interning at Variety’s London bureau. In August 2011, I began my job as Co-Editor-in-Chief of AmWord, American University’s student-run news magazine.

Harry Potter

“Is she really devoting a whole section to Harry Potter?” I hear you ask. Yes, I am, and for the very simple reason that I believe were it not for the boy wizard, I wouldn’t be on the path I am today with the opportunities I have been presented.

I got my start blogging and posting news about Harry Potter as a teen. I have covered press events for the Harry Potter films since I was 17, attending premieres in Los Angeles and New York City for films five through eight. In Summer 2010 I was invited to represent RupertGrint.net at the Grand Opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando.

I’ve often joked that I’m a bit of a “Harry Potter freelancer,” having contributed to different fansites over the years. But currently you can find me as the assistant manager at RupertGrint.net (though it’s not much of a “Potter” fansite, anymore!) and contributing news posts to The Leaky Cauldron.
