Updates – May 2011
A major update on the site tonight: the popular Handy Guide to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been updated to reflect my most recent visit! Not much has changed, so I believe it’s still pretty relevant. If you have any other questions about the park, feel free to ask me in the comments and I’ll try my best to answer it! Other than that, I’ve done a bit... Read More
Share the Potter Love
Everybody needs to read Mark Reads Harry Potter. You’ll probably enjoy it more if you’re a Harry Potter fan, but the concept of his blog and the way he writers overall is engaging, insightful and just downright funny. Mr. Mark had a previous blog entitled Mark Reads Twilight where he read the entire “saga” (I use this term loosely). Apparently, he was not... Read More
A Handy Guide to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Update May 26, 2011: It’s been nearly a year since the grand opening of the Wizarding World and just last week I returned, making it my 3rd trip to the park. Not much has changed, but it was nice to go when it wasn’t peak season. Still, because the Wizarding World is small the crowds are perhaps more noticeable. During this visit, we always saved the Wizarding World... Read More
Trailer Talk: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
With this new post, it will seem like all my blogs are either about two things lately: Harry Potter or the World Cup. I promise you it won’t always be this way! But there’s much going on with both subjects, including the newly released trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. [Watch here and prepare to be blown away] When the trailer first began and... Read More
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Most Magical Place on Earth
So Hershey, PA likes to call itself the sweetest place on Earth, and okay, I can agree with that given the endless amount of chocolate located in that town. And Disney World wants everyone to believe it is the happiest place on Earth, but I’ve found a place that can top that and Hershey. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is by far the most magical place on Earth. In 2007,... Read More
Potter Photoshop
Oh, Daniel Radcliffe: Since the age of 10, Potter fans have know him as the Boy Who Lived. He was cute and innocent-looking, maybe even a bit shy. But today, Dan Radcliffe is the complete antonym for the word “shy.” He’s a short, funny dude (I say that endearingly) and he enjoys wearing low cut shirts to show off his chest hair. I attribute this to the fact that... Read More
It really is happening!
These are the most promising photos I have seen so far of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park that is supposed to open next summer in Orlando. The concept art unveiled by Universal was one thing, but lookit – THERE ARE ACTUAL WALLS! AND ROOFTOPS! I can safely say that the moment I walk into that theme park, you will have lost me for good. The amount of geeking-out... Read More
This Book is So Awesome
For my birthday (which was this past Friday!), I had one of the greatest experiences EVER. I attended LeakyCon in Boston- a Harry Potter conference which was amaaazing. I was in the amazing company of fellow Potter fans where we don’t discriminate and love everybody!! Of course, other guests at the Park Plaza probably thought we were completely insane. So did the people in... Read More
Textbooks getting it wrong.
After reading this in my school textbook, I don’t know I can trust what I read in that book anymore. Does the following make sense to any of my fellow Potter people? In director David Yates’s ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Harry is back for his fifth year at Hogwarts, this time pitted against the cruel new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher... Legos, Lucy, and Networks Ripping Off Each Other
No More Lego Harry Potter Sets: This is a sad day, indeed. Apparently, it’s because the movies are getting darker and it’s hard to create to create “child friendly” sets or something like that. But I really loved building them! The Durmstrang Ship is currently sitting in my room, as is half of the Shrieking Shack (some of the pieces weren’t in the... Read More
