Potter Photoshop
Oh, Daniel Radcliffe: Since the age of 10, Potter fans have know him as the Boy Who Lived. He was cute and innocent-looking, maybe even a bit shy. But today, Dan Radcliffe is the complete antonym for the word “shy.” He’s a short, funny dude (I say that endearingly) and he enjoys wearing low cut shirts to show off his chest hair. I attribute this to the fact that 1) he wants to continuously remind people he is, in fact, 20 years old now and 2) it’s just his European style.
Entertainment Weekly, however, does not appreciate Dan Rad’s chest hair like multitudes of other fangirls. I’ve made a comparison animation of the original Entertainment Weekly photograph paired up with the enhanced image that was originally published in July 2009. Spot the difference?

And this is what I’ve resorted to to keep myself entertained during the Snowpocalypse of 2010. A blog post about Daniel Radcliffe’s chest hair. How charming. -Facepalm-
It really is happening!
These are the most promising photos I have seen so far of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park that is supposed to open next summer in Orlando. The concept art unveiled by Universal was one thing, but lookit – THERE ARE ACTUAL WALLS! AND ROOFTOPS!

I can safely say that the moment I walk into that theme park, you will have lost me for good. The amount of geeking-out and squeeing will be UNIMAGINABLE. I’m coming for you Infinitus 2010!
This Book is So Awesome

For my birthday (which was this past Friday!), I had one of the greatest experiences EVER. I attended LeakyCon in Boston- a Harry Potter conference which was amaaazing. I was in the amazing company of fellow Potter fans where we don’t discriminate and love everybody!!
Of course, other guests at the Park Plaza probably thought we were completely insane. So did the people in the streets who would see convention attendees sitting outdoors at a cafe decked out in full wizard gear. A true conversation that went down while we were lined up outside the Castle waiting to get in for the Opening Feast:
Man: Excuse me- are you lining up for a show?
HP Fan: No, this is a Harry Potter conference.
Man: …. Harry Potter? Really? *bemused expression* What do you do?
Do these people think we perform witchcraft and try to do voodoo? Or sit around and reenact scenes from the books? Because it’s far from it! Those four days were pretty much non-stop partying with podcasts and panel discussions in between! Potter people party hard, no joke.
The Vlogbrothers have a pretty cool and funny video up on YouTube that sums up the Con pretty well!

I definitely can’t wait to go to some more Con’s…Infinitus is next year at the new HP Wizarding World theme park in Orlando and then there’s LeakyCon 2011!!! This fandom isn’t going anywhere and I’m so proud to be a part of it.
Textbooks getting it wrong.
After reading this in my school textbook, I don’t know I can trust what I read in that book anymore.
Does the following make sense to any of my fellow Potter people?
In director David Yates’s ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Harry is back for his fifth year at Hogwarts, this time pitted against the cruel new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Dolores Umbridge. Meanwhile, the evil Voldemort is gaining power, Harry secretly starts teaching his peers how to defend themselves against the dark arts, and Hermione finds a way to alert the wizard media about Voldemort’s return. The intertwining stories -Umbridge’s cruelty, Voldemort’s return, Harry’s secret lessons, and Hermione’s clever plan- offer another complex narrative film based on the Harry Potter hero.
Hermione alerts the wizard media? Really? In the FILM!? No. I don’t think so. Maybe when she ropes in Rita Skeeter to interview Harry in the book, sure. But in the film? I must be missing something.
This is really going to be bugging me now…
